🎣 No Market Shift Yet

The truth is most people don't get to work the job in an industry they are deeply passionate about.
Most children dream of being an athlete, doctor, or astronaut, and ever since Adam Wingfield was a little boy he was obsessed with trucks.
Adam was building Shippers, distribution centers, and trucks with his Legos at an early age.
When Adam was 11 years old his uncle, who was a driver, left his 9” TV in the truck along with his load assignment that week. He brought Adam along for the ride to retrieve these items.
Adam arrived at the terminal and was in heaven. Seeing all the trucks parked in the terminal, Adam knew he wanted to be a driver.
Adams's father wanted him to get an education and he went off to college at Johnson C. Smith University. While in college Adam received horrible news that his father was diagnosed with cancer.
Balancing school and family life, Adam began commuting back home on the weekends to help care for his father. At the age of 20, Adam's father passed away.
Life had to move on and bills needed to be paid. This is when Adam decided to accelerate his dream of becoming a truck driver.
Adam began his career driving for the Schneider Specialized division. An intensive CDL training course that layed the foundation for him to learn the ins and outs of driving.
"Back in the year 2000 there were No electronic load board apps, you had to hover over a TV that had a feed of loads with info on them”, Adam said.
In 2006 Adam founded Innovative Logistics Group. A transportation consulting firm helping 3PLs and asset-based carriers scale. (https://www.thetruckingconsultants.com)
Adam told me he got the idea to start his own firm when his factoring rep, with whom he always had a great relationship, told him he should start helping people and their businesses.
What makes Adam unique, compared to other "transportation consultants" is that Adam has lived experience in the industry. Adam has operated a semi-truck, he has negotiated with brokers, he has sat at a receiver and waited 12 hours to get unloaded.
I asked Adam what motivated him to move to the consulting side and he said, "The lack of information out there for folks trying to get going. There are some really good folks out there that just need a trusted advisor to get them down the right path".
Adams serves as a reminder that you can monetize your passion.

Myself and Adam's relationship began on X (Twitter). We began talking a lot of NBA and sending each other tweets in regards to mostly the NBA and NFL. It's crazy the connections you can build through the Internet. If you're not leveraging social media to grow your business or personal brand you're missing out on a world of connections
