Israeli ship in Indian Ocean targeted by suspected Iranian drone amid regional tensions and ongoing conflict with Hamas.
A suspected Iranian drone attacked an Israeli-owned container ship in the Indian Ocean amid the ongoing conflict with Hamas in the Gaza Strip, according to U.S. defense officials. The attack occurred as a temporary ceasefire has enabled a prisoner swap between Israel and Hamas, with 13 Israelis and seven foreigners exchanged for 39 Palestinians. The CMA CGM Symi, managed by Singapore-based Eastern Pacific Shipping, sustained damage but the crew remained unharmed. This incident is part of a series of attacks and hostilities in the region, reflecting the tense geopolitical climate and the escalation of a shadow war between Israel and Iran.
