NJ Shrimp Caper
A truck loaded with $305,000 worth of shrimp vanished from a Middlesex warehouse on September 12. Bound for Costco, the vehicle and its precious cargo were later found in Perth Amboy.
"We're actively investigating all leads," said Detective Sergeant Sean Flanagan.
Philly's Crab Grab
In this case, thieves snatched $42,000 of crabmeat from a parked truck on September 4. The driver woke to find "approximately six males stealing boxes of crabmeat," according to police reports.
Also in Philly, a separate heist saw one pallet of tuna disappear from a parked truck on August 8. Details on this crime are sparse at the moment.

- 46% increase from Q1 2023
- 10% rise from Q4 2023
"Criminal activities impacting the logistics and transportation industry reached new highs," CargoNet warns.
