🎣 Final F3 Recap
FMCSA releases video for drivers to get back CDLs, Trump names commerce secretary, and more.
Breakdown of Key Points:
ABB, DHL Supply Chain, and Scania have jointly implemented the electrification of the logistics chain between ABB's frequency converter factory located in Helsinki, and DHL's warehouse located in Vantaa. DHL is responsible for the logistics chain between the warehouse and production, providing nonstop transportation with four Scania electric trucks.
Between the warehouse and the production facilities, over 80 departures are made per day from Sunday evening to Friday evening. The electric trucks are charged during loading and unloading with ABB's power charging equipment installed at both ends of the logistics chain. The model is a Scania 25P four 3-axle fully electric truck with nine batteries.
Thanks to electrification, the carbon dioxide emissions from transportation between the warehouse and production are reduced by approximately 440924 pounds annually compared to a similar operation with diesel trucks.
ABB and DHL are committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2050.
Added Value for Companies through Responsible Logistics
Logistics services' energy efficiency and low emissions are increasingly important factors in responsible business operations. Europe is actively pursuing the electrification of road transport vehicles.
This large-scale implementation of fully electric trucks for a single transport chain is a first in Finland. The trucks operate between the factory and the warehouse almost 24/7.
