Texas's Marcelino Serna Port Reopens for Commercial Traffic

After a six-year hiatus, the Marcelino Serna Port of Entry in Texas, a border crossing for commercial truck traffic, will reopen on August 7. The decision to reopen the port, which is expected to handle about 300 trucks per week, came in response to the completion of the Samalayuca toll road, providing a new highway for vehicles traveling from northern Chihuahua to the border. The port boasts modern facilities and is geared to meet growing trade demands while ensuring homeland security. This move may provide much-needed relief to busy El Paso border entry crossings.
